Ok it’s six am. Big deal right? Well for starters I’ve been up for about 2 hours now, and the last time I looked at the clock…..it was after 2am. I don’t know why I’m not sleeping! It’s really starting take a toll on me as well as dennis and might actually drive me to the brink of insanity. I have been running around like crazy for a week (at least) trying to get ready for the bridal shower and meet the parents night. Especially these last 2 days, so you’d think I’d be tired out and sleep all night, nope! And I haven’t slept during the day at all except Monday. Anyone have any tips? I tried over the counter sleep stuff last night, clearly that didn’t work! I’ve slept about 7 hours over the last 72, and it’s not bc of work or a new baby. So what do I do? Take it as training for when or if we have a baby?
Our quick visit to see GiGi
So after the big production at Basil Leaf, we decided to go see our friend Genette at Mugshotz. We figured we’d have one or whatever and head home and watch a movie. As if I didn’t look out of place enough all dressed up in a biker bar, Sara and I are taking pictures of ourselves like crazy people.
There’s a guy sitting next to Dennis and he’s just old and creepy. He kept talking to Dennis who kept ignoring him until Sara asked his name. Then this weirdo guy kept trying to get all 3 of us to go home with him!!!!! He’s like which one of them is yours, is the other taken too? But we got to say hi to GiGi and finally the guy left.
The rest of the night was normal. Then, welcome to Saturday where things get really weird!
The world of the bizarre!
Ok everyone keeps hearing about this bizarre weekend we had and just kept saying I’ll blog about it so I don’t have to write it over and over.
So it started a while ago when a friend of Dennis’s friends moved back from one of the Dakota’s and didn’t really have much to do. She was living in her mom’s apartment and didn’t drive because she really never had to. So we hung out a few times which gave me entertainment during the day.
Last Friday she wanted to hang out so Dennis went to pick her up. She insisted on getting “dressed up” in an LBD, I was like come on I just had surgery. But I figured I was done with bed rest and wanted out anyway. She got here and was wearing a freaking sundress and flip flops! I was not changing at that point and we headed out to have a few drinks.
Then we get to a Basil Leaf where we’ve been a dozen times, sit down at a cocktail table, and order a bottle of wine from a bartender we’ve never seen before. She asks to see ID, which I haven’t been ID’d in I don’t know how long, normally I would be excited except I knew that Sara had forgotten hers….even though we had been texting about it right before Dennis picked her up. We explained that she just moved back and didn’t have her NY ID yet and left her other one home not knowing we were going out.
The bartender said she would check with the owner and let us know. A few minutes later she walks over while corking a bottle of wine, with 2 glasses. She puts the bottle of now fully corked wine down and poured 2 glasses. Doesn’t say a word and walked away. Ok, we planned to have 2 bottles between us all and go home, so I looked at Dennis and said looks like we’re only having one bottle! He said no, where is her glass. He went to the bartender and asked for the other glass, she let him know that Gary would not allow it, although I’m pretty sure 2 30+ year olds aren’t going to be hanging out with an underager.
Dennis returned to the table and said let’s go. They won’t be getting our business again. We’ve been there enough times and Gary always talks to us, we had a really good vibe about this place even though we (in my mind) SOMETIMES received subpar service. I had actually thought about doing the rehearsal there. There’s a good chunk of money they wont receive.
We went outside to talk to Gary, long story short on that, the bartender followed us out yelling that we need to pay for the wine and when we didn’t say anything, she said well ok come back when you have the money to pay for the bottle big spender. She went back inside and sent their “bouncer” outside. Gary told him everything was fine, told the bartender to give us back the bottle of wine and get us A THIRD GLASS.
Gary was great about the whole thing. We understand that no ID typically means no drinking, but we’re dressed up at what used to be a nice restaurant (I’ve noticed a decrease in the clientele already) and ordering a bottle of wine without even looking at the menu. We aren’t a bunch of giggling young kids ordering sex on the beach!
We finished the bottle and left, probably never to return. Instead I end up dressed up in a LBD 6″ sparkling heels at Mugshotz….yeah I was out of place! That concludes part 1 of the weekend from the bizarro world. Next we’ll have a much shorter blog on our stay at Mugshotz!
Exhaustion…
Now that I’m pretty much recovered, I’m back to not sleeping again. I’ve decided that I come up with my best blogs while I’m laying in bed at 3am listening to the dogs snoring and hearing everything outside.
I’m starting to think I should write my blogs then. I come up with some really funny stuff at that hour. I think I slept about three hours last night but it made me realize a few things….first, my mind does NOT have an off switch. We have less than 3 months before the wedding so I just think about all the stuff we still have to do and how I’m going to fit in my dress
I also realized that the birds in Liverpool think that dawn comes at like 4am. And they can be really freaking loud.
Whores….
Random thought….
Do you ever wonder if girls with poor moral sexuality know that they are dirty whores? And if they do, do you think they would be upset if their daddy found out?
