I have had a great day today! I have a pretty bad headache, but Even with that…I was up super early (Thank you Dennis…in al your gorgeousness). So I started doing some purse work and then did a KILLER workout after. I can’t run yet, but I can at least do SOME stuff to get my body ready for when I can run…Plus If we leave for Mexico on October 1st, I have 88 days to get the body ready
I feel really good after the workout, but I know tomorrow I’ll be sore. AND, I’ll have to do the workout in Front of Dennis, And I’m sure there will be some “That’s what she said moments” ![]()
Now it’s off to be domestic and fold some laundry and take more pictures for eBay. I’ll tell ya, that and half.com are getting rid of a LOT of stuff for us!
Wow!
Boring day
Maids came, did some purse work, laid in the sun, read in the gazebo…pretty much nothing exciting…but tomorrow…I BET I’ll have something good to write!
Waiting
Ok, I always thought that I was a SUPER procrastinator, I have recently learned, I had NO idea what I was going to run into!
Episode One…Continued
Ok, so I’ll get as far as I can before dinner ![]()
So the ambulance takes me to the hospital on a backboard, in this ridiculously UNCONFORTABLE neck brace in case I had broken my neck. I was pretty sure by the fact that my neck was standing upright and not leaning to one side making me drool like a fool that my neck wasn’t broken, but hey it could be a little tiny fracture whatever. And of course, going by my luck…they have no rooms open so I am in a trauma room!
As if I didn’t feel stupid enough, I was the first thing people saw when they walked in. They did all kinds of tests and X-Rays…all of them came back negative. Pretty much I was fine except for the giant softball on my forehead, the obvious concussion and the ridiculous pain. It pretty much loses it’s fun from there. They kept me overnight, in the cardiac wing, which I highly recommend! HELLO, Single Suites AND your own bathroom??? Yeah I’ll be ok with that!
Dennis brought up a picnic dinner for everyone to eat, Kerri and my parents and he were there, so we all ate meatballs and stuff together. It was cute. And it really means a lot to me that they were all there for me.
When something bad happens you always get those people that say, “I’ll be RIGHT there…” And then 6 hours later they say, “Oh it’s too late now sorry.” But the people that were with me, I knew they cared.
The next morning they said there’s nothing wrong with your heart…so you get to go home! YAY! I went home and did a lot of resting to try and get rid of the concussion that still haunts me until today! Episode 1….The End. To be continued with the 3 weeks following.
Butkus update
He’s all bandaged up. It was just a superficial wound, so he’ll be ok in a few days!
Butkus is off to the vet AGAIN
So we’re off to the vet! Butkus cut his foot pretty well. I’m sure it’ll need stitches but as of now we don’t know much else. We’re just worried about our boy
Episode one
We all know that when something happens, people try to keep up, but when you’re seeing as many doctors as I am, it’s hard to keep up.
Well, today I had an appointment and it got me thinking, it really stresses me out to have to talk about this stuff all the time. I instanty got a headache, etc.
So here is what I’m going to do, and I’m going to try and do my best with it…but we all know I like to talk
I’m going to put it up here, tell the whole story, I’ll blog about it a little at a time and then not discuss it again unless with doctors in which case I have to talk to them
May 8th: Kerri was inside making a taco dip, Dennis is out front sweeping the driveway (I still don’t know why)
Anyway, the last thing I remember I bent over to get the Lysol wipes. So the rest is all pretty much what everyone else has told me. At some point i grabbed paper towels and Greenworks to go outside and clean the coolers out for our Ocho-De-Mayo party. I don’t remember even going outside. But apparently Kerri found me, unconscious with the cooler broken, blood on my face and a bruise on my forehead. She called my name and realized I was unconcscious, and somehow, I have no idea how, she got me conscious-ish and walking…although, I still don’t remember any of this. I guess she left me in the bathroom and went to get Dennis. He came back in and cleaned the blood off my face, and he first thing I vaguely remember was Dennis saying, ” We’re going somewhere, I don’t know where, but you’re going somewhere.” I looked at him completely puzzled and asked him why. I had no memory of anything happening….nor any pain! So they got me into the Denali and the only thing I remember about the ride was begging them to go to sleep, and having the worst case of nausea. I don’t remember much for the next bit, but they kind of filled in the blanks for me. I guess Dennis ran in as Kerri got me out of a car and they put me in a wheelchair.
The nurses at North Med INSTANTLY called an ambulance. They knew I shouldn’t be there, and that I should be in the ER ASAP. They did basic triage and asked me questions that I couldn’t answer to save my life. I had no idea who the president was, what year it was…ya know all that stuff you should know…I had no idea. So they stuffed me in an ambulance and took me to the hospital.
Later….My stay in the hospital!
Pedis
OMG! I am so spoiled. I haven’t been feeling well at all, but kept pushing myself anyway.. Cleaning in the house while maneuvering through two dogs, going through boxes of my stuff that my parents brought me, weeding a couple gardens and staking plants. I know it doesn’t sound like much to a normal person but to me, a person who’s supposed to be taking it easy…it was a lot. I kept getting overwhelmed and just made myself push thru it!
Well we have a few errands to run so before we did them Dennis decided to take me for a pedi! He’s so good to me.
Hobby Lobby
Here I sit in the car while my boyfriend does work. He’s on the phone with a client. I should start bringing a book with me!
Anyway we were at hobby lobby and I only bought 2 things!!!! That’s a first for me! Now I want to go back and shop like crazy!
Intro to me :-)
I’m a simple person…at least that’s what I think
I’ve been told many times that I’m High Maintenance…maybe in some ways. I’m generally a happy person. If I get angry though, you’re going to know it…as is everyone around me. I don’t hide my emotions and that’s pretty much why my amazing boyfriend created this site for me. Now I can rant and rave….or gush about how great my boyfriend is! ![]()
I love smiley faces…and use them way too much. Now the boring stuff about me. I work at The Syracuse New Times, BUT I have been out on disability. May 8th I fell and bumped my head…sounds silly and not serious, but I had a bump on my head the size of a softball! I started to recover, and thought everything was fine. Wentback to work and then started having these random seizure like episodes. SOOO…I’m still out of work.
I have an incredible boyfriend who has stood by my side from day one. He goes to every doctor’s appointment with me and is always helping me! I can’t wait to continue my life with him. It was a weird start, but we are so incredibly happy it isn’t even funny!
We have 2 doggies. We each brother one to the relationship. There’s Butkus, who is our black 140 lb. Great Dane that I brought and there’s Paige. She’s my little cuddle bug. Every night we snuggle (the 4 of us) on the couch.
For now, that’s it. Just a little bit about me. There is so much ore hat will be written, I swear sometimes my life is like Days of Our Lives!
So I’m done for now…I need a cool sign out…like when Ryan Seacrest does Seacresst out…Hmm, I’ll have to think about that one!
